A Journey to the End of Time

The Solar System in 3D, in real time

A simulation of the Solar System driven by real ephemerides. The Sun, the planets, Pluto and the major moons, space probes, the International Space Station, nearby stars and the black hole at the centre of the Milky Way are where they really are at the chosen moment. You can run time from 1700 to 2100, fly from one object to another and look at the sky from anywhere on Earth.

Juno is a NASA probe that has been orbiting Jupiter since 4 July 2016: the first to pass over its north and south poles, to study its interior, magnetic field and auroras. It is the first solar-powered spacecraft designed by NASA to work so far from the Sun.

It found that Jupiter's core may be much larger than expected and not solid. It has also made close flybys of Ganymede (June 2021), Europa (September 2022) and Io (December 2023 and February 2024).

It is named after the queen of the gods, Jupiter's wife, who could see through his clouds; on board are three aluminium LEGO figures: Galileo, Jupiter and Juno.
